forms are available for sale in the school premises. The masters form go for the sum of #28,550 (twenty eight thousand five hundred and fifty naira) only excluding bank charges. The forms come as scratch cards which can be filled online anywhere in the world on the school's website.
GUIDELINES FOR FILLING APPLICATION FORMS
(a) All application forms come as scratch cards and are available for sale in the school premises these scratch cards come with an 18 digit code which should be used to fill the form on the school's official website.
(b) Incomplete information from an applicant may delay or halt action on such application.
(c) A candidate may apply to only one department or programme.
(d) Applicants are to upload their relevant credentials and submit along with their application electronically.
(e) Acknowledgement of Application: Applicants would be informed electronically
(through the e mail addresses provided in the electronically filled Application form) of progress in the processing of their forms.
(f) Letters of Recommendation: The Postgraduate School, requires three letters of
recommendation from faculty members or others well acquainted with the student’s academic work. Please note that the referee forms are available online, to be completed
and submitted electronically.
(g) Transcripts/Certificates: Official transcripts of all degrees completed are to be mailed to
the Postgraduate School. If the Registrar of an applicant’s University will provide an official
copy to the School directly, applicants must enclose along with the application an
unofficial or student’s copy of the transcript for temporary reference.
To prevent delays, applicants should make adequate arrangements with their Registrars
to provide transcripts before the stipulated deadline.
Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences
Master of Arts (M.A) History
Admissions to the programme shall be opened to:
Candidates who hold a B.A. (Hons) degree in History or related discipline with at least a Second Class Lower Division from any University recognized by the Senate of Taraba State University.
Candidates who hold qualifications which together with relevant experience deemed by the Faculty Board to be equivalent of (a) above are.
Master of Science (M.Sc) Political Science
Candidates for Admission must possess:
Admission is open to candidates with First Class or Second Class, Upper Division Degree in Political Science
Candidates must meet the minimum requirements of University Admission and Matriculation.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) History
Admission to the programme shall be open to:
(a) Candidates who hold M.A. Degree in History from a recognized University with an average GPA of 4.00. the Department may admit candidates with a GPA of 3.00 if there is satisfactory evidence of quality academic research project at the graduate level.
(b) Candidates with Masters of Philosophy Degree may be admitted for the programme.
(c) Candidates may be required to pass an oral interview before final admission.
(d) Candidates who do not hold an MA in History will be required to take number of 700 level curses for one academic session.
PGD in Agronomy and Farm Management (PGDAFM)
Faculty of Agriculture
For Postgraduate Diploma Agricultural Economics and Extension
Third class degree in Agriculture or Agric related area
HND in Agriculture or any area related to Agric (with at least lower credit)
For M.Sc. Agricultural Economics and Extension
Degree in Agriculture or Agric related area (with at least second class lower)
Third class degree in Agriculture (with at least five (5) years practicing experience)
PGD in Agricultural Economics & Extension or Farm Management with at least Upper Credit.
Candidate with degree in Economics or Sociology may be considered for admission with remedial at undergraduate level.
For PhD Agricultural Economics and Extension
Sc. in Agricultural Economics
Sc. in Agricultural Extension
Sc. in Rural Sociology
Phil. of TSU with at least a GPA of 4.00
Faculty of Education
To qualify for admission, applicants should possess the following:
A first degree in the relevant subject area from a recognized university with at least a second class honours.
An evidence of participation in NYSC or exemption thereof.
Not less than one year Post graduation experience in teaching or other related occupations.
M.ED. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Ed. Students shall be required to take a minimum of 36 credit units of which 6 credit units must be from thesis. The remaining will be distributed among core courses of the student’s choice among the prescribed courses under the area of specialization.
The students shall also audit at least two graduate level courses in other courses related to their fields of specialization. The grades from these courses will be used in computing the students’ CGPA. The students are required to pass them (with at least a C grade).
M.Sc in Computer Science
Candidates for M.Sc Computer Science must have at least Second class lower in computer science from any recognized university. Candidates with Upper Credit in PGD of Taraba State University, Jalingo shall be considered for Admission.
The candidate must have O’level credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
